Oil prices have pulled back slightly from seasonal highs in late October. News that OPEC plans to leave production levels unchanged and additional concerns regarding the strength of the economic recovery will likely continue to exert downward pressure on prices in the months ahead. The U.S. dollar found a small measure of stability over the past week on the back of a slight improvement in the U.S. labor market. We continue to watch this key economic indicator closely as a fresh decline will raise the risk of monetary inflation and higher interest rates next year.
